WHAT AN ASTONISHING ACHIEVEMENT!
Eighty cyclists from the Norfolk rugby community and beyond covering 300 miles in 3 days to raise £120,000 for Wooden Spoon, BUILD, Nelson’s Journey and Special Olympics Norfolk with every penny staying within our wonderful county.
Having spent some of their final day with them, I am astonished at the fitness, commitment to training, support, logistics and atmosphere of these wonderful people, their sponsors and donors.
Although he will downplay his role, Norwich's Mark Loveday was pivotal to the growth of the concept, to drawing around him a committee dedicated to make this a success, and finding the vital support staff including Pedal Revolution in Norwich for their technical back up. It is a tribute to everyone involved, to the rugby clubs of Norfolk (and a few in Suffolk) and to the thing that marks our game out as so special, because of the people in it.
Mark said " The objective was to raise a life changing amount of money for Norfolk charities, to have fun and to bring together our rugby communities behind a common cause. We achieved all three and have raised over £120,000. the support and love we have received from everyone has been utterly overwhelming and we are so proud to have played our part. Just don't ask what's next! "

FINAL REMINDER- DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING MON 18TH SEPT
You will recall last season’s fantastic fundraising efforts to buy and install a defibrillator at the Club. This is now firmly installed in the Clubhouse. Whilst we hope we will never have the need to use it this can never be guaranteed and I am sure you will all agree that the more people within the Club that know how to use the Defibrillator the more chance there is of saving the life of a victim of Sudden Cardiac arrest.
A Cardiac Arrest Response Seminar has been booked at Norwich Rugby Football Club on the evening of Monday 18th September at 7pm. The Community Heartbeat Trust will be demonstrating the use of defibrillators and explaining how the equipment works and its benefits to the community in saving precious minutes in the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest.
Everybody is welcome, and no special skills are required, just your willingness to play an important role in the event of a medical emergency. The Seminar poster and attendee notice are displayed on the Club noticeboard I do hope you will attend for what is a very worthwhile thing to know not just in the Club but the community at large
