Chairman Bob Annable said "We were delighted to be presented with our Accreditation award by Roger Pierson, RFU Council member for Eastern Counties after Youth and minis coaching on Sunday 22nd October.
What does the Accreditation mean? In essence it is the RFUs endorsement of the way we look to engage and develop players, coaches, referees and volunteers at all levels and how effective and efficient our management and governance is in particular around safeguarding responsibilities. It also looks at the positive way we integrate with the local community.
This is an important accolade for the Club and has been hard earned. My thanks go to Jay O’Brien our first team coach who kicked the process off and put a great deal of work into our initial application and to all members of the Club committee for the contributions they have made not just in relation to this process but for the dedication they continue to give to their roles.
This also reflects the way our players, coaches, volunteers and members across all age groups uphold the core values of our great game and enjoy being a part of the Norwich Rugby club family.
If there are any members out there who are interested and would like to support us further or indeed have any ideas as to how we can do things better please don’t hesitate to speak to any members of the Clubs committee or contact us by email."

A recent match report posted on Facebook by an opposition youth coach implied bias by one of our referees. Such behaviour is unfair, unnecessary and goes against the core values of the game. It also sets a very poor example to youth players of how to behave.

It would seem an opportune moment to respectfully remind all members of Norwich Rugby Club that any direct or implied criticism of referees of any kind on social media will not be tolerated as it goes against our core values and code of conduct. Please think before you consider what you post on social media. Criticism and abuse of officials during and after matches carries strong sanctions against individuals and the clubs concerned and the sentiment behind that policy does not change because the referee isn’t present.

Norwich Under 10 Josh Lacey is going to be England's mascot at Twickenham on the 11th November against Argentina. Josh suffers from a very rare condition that means his sight is failing him. He is very enthusiastic about his rugby and always volunteers to be ballboy or help out with the 1st XV team. The team have taken him under their wing and Vice Captain Chris Parrott made contact with England hooker Jamie George who very kindly took up Josh's case and sorted it out. We are all very grateful to Jamie and England Rugby for their kindness and know that this delightful and unassuming little boy will have the time of his life.
