ALL RUGBY ACTIVITY IS OFF THIS WEEKEND

Not exactly the shock of the week, but all this weekend's activities have been either postponed or cancelled.

Saturday's 1st XV game against Wanstead has been postponed due to 8" of snow on our pitches and a forecast that suggests it will remain there for a while.

League regulations state that we must play the fixture at the next available weekend which is Saturday 17th March. There is some suggestion that the RFU could overrule the regulations as it is the last weekend of the 6 Nations tournament.

Southwold 2's game against the Lions has also been postponed to the same date.

The Mini festival at Lowestoft & Yarmouth and all the youth activity has been cancelled.

RFU DRAW UPDATE

Andy Pott has sought and obtained an agreement from the RFU Draw Organiser that we can send him the bulk of our tickets on 12 March after the local draw has been made on that day and any others received on 19 March. Tickets received by him after 19 March won't be in the national draw. The weather has destroyed the original timetable for returning tickets. Hopefully we will have a 'normal' rugby week before 12th March.

Tickets and payments can always be sent to Andy's home address - 34 Judges Walk, Norwich. NR4 7QF but at the moment the post is not working. He hasn't received anything since last Monday.

He will try to get the organiser to hold the draw at the end of April in future years to avoid this problem.

NORWICH REGAIN DAI EVANS TROPHY

The Norfolk Cup Semi Final win 5-8 against Diss means that Norwich regain the Dai Evans Trophy. The late Dai Evans was a Norwich member with close associations to both clubs and equally popular at both. The trophy, donated by Steele's Solicitors, is contested whenever the two sides meet once a season.

BACK TO NORWICH (HARVEY) DAY - 24TH MARCH

Members Past and Present v Norwich (amalgam of teams) 11.00am kick off (10:00 meet)

This is an open invitation to participate in the Club's reunion day. Please let me know by e-mail if you would like to play and for how long. We have rolling replacements so even if you only want 5 minutes for old time's sake that is fine - but I need to know before the day. Also let me know if you would like lunch (£23.00 per head payable on the day). For those who don't know, we join the main Club lunch after our game and then support the 1st XV as they play Old Cooperians.

If you know of anyone who may be interested in participating, especially in the match, please do tell them to get in touch.

Many thanks, we look forward to hearing from you and seeing you on the day.

Best wishes,

Mark Lusher
