MINI FESTIVAL THIS SUNDAY
It's that time of year again. The Mini festival is the highlight of the year for the minis where hundreds of players and parents flood the ground to have some late season fun. Please come along and support the players, it's great fun and starts at 10:15am

NORWICH RUGBY CLUB LADIES SUCCEED IN THE LONDON MARATHON
Lisa Snary, Claire Honess and Donna De Cooper Wride completed their London Marathon in 5 hours 8 minutes in sweltering heat raising £10,668 so far with £1,500 still to come in, a fantastic effort, well done ladies.
The beneficiary of the money is the Wooden Spoon children's charity.
THE LEAGUE SEASON COMES TO AN END
The league season is now over for Norwich Rugby club.
- The 1st XV finished in 3rd place in London 2 North East
- The Lions finished second in Eastern Counties 2 North
- The AXV finished in second place by one point in Eastern Counties 3 North
THE 1st XV have one more game at the final of the Norfolk Senior Cup at the Big Rugby Weekend against North Walsham on Saturday 5th May. The AXV will contest the final of the Norfolk Salver against Diss 3's at the same event which this year is hosted at Diss RFC.
Our coach Jonny O'Brien will bow out at that event but 1st XV Manager John Drinkill has seen his last game as manager as he steps down after more years than most of us can remember. Well done John and thank you for all the years. The players will feel lost without the words "Keep the noise down!" being (justifiably) shouted down the bus as we arrive back in the City.
CHAIRMAN'S PLEA FOR VOLUNTEERS
Whilst I am sure the majority of our members and parents understand and acknowledge the reality, It’s has come to my attention that there is a myth circulating amongst a few that people are paid for the tasks they undertake for the Club. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Bar staff, some catering and cleaning staff are employed but essentially, the Club is run by volunteers. Every committee member, every youth and minis coach, administrator, first aider and general helper are all Volunteers giving up their own time for free to make things happen and ensure the smooth running of the club for the enjoyment of our players and members across all age groups.
I, and the rest of the committee are very appreciative and proud of that fact. With that in mind you will appreciate that we can never have too many volunteers and it doesn't have to be a time consuming role either, the ability to run rotas at mini barbeques for instance so that everyone can see their child playing, pitching in at special events such as the minis festival and the clean-up day are examples when numbers are important to the success of the day and people can volunteer just a bit of their time.
I know that would be very much appreciated throughout the fantastic mini and youth sections of the club where we are also keen to see more first aid support. Please speak to your coaches , administrators or any committee members if you would like to step forward, the club will happily invest in any training you need and it is not as onerous as it may sound.
I believe the Club is in a good place and we should all be proud of that but sustaining where we are and moving forward is very reliant on the commitment of our existing Volunteers and others coming forward to help.
