END OF ANOTHER SEASON

The curtain falls on another season and one that the club can look back on with pride. Our two final senior matches didn't end in victories but they did go the way of the form book as both sides played teams from the leagues above in the Norfolk RFU Big Rugby Weekend, splendidly organised by our friends at Diss RFC.

The AXV lost 28:7 to a strong Diss side but deserved their consolation try after such an outstanding season, coming second in their league.

The Lions didn't make the final but also finished an outstanding second in their league.

The 1st XV lost 40:14 to North Walsham in the Senior Cup final having been given a lesson in cost of handling errors in the first half as NW pounced on such opportunties. Going in 35:0 down at half time it looked like they were in for a torrid second half but rallied and 'won' the second half 5:14. Small consolation but against a team at 6th in the league above, a good experience.

Thank you to the neutrals for their support.

The 1st XV managed to improve on their previous season's league finish with a 3rd place, up from 9th.

AWESOME MINI FESTIVAL

Lisa Snary's 6th and final Norwich Mini Festival was a fabulous event even considering the weather which was, quite frankly, horrible. The heavy bias towards hot drinks and away from cold ones told its own story.

The main thing is that the players had a great time and some fabulous rugby was on show across the age groups. With the Minis BBQ this Sunday (6th may) the season is brought to a close. With thanks to Lisa Snary for all her hard work and that of the volunteers that made it possible, have a great summer and come back refreshed in September.
