SAT 11TH AUGUST - CLUB CLEAN UP DAY
Saturday 11th August is our annual clean up day. Julian Edwards our Chair of House and Groundsman Graham Hilton are taking the lead on this. Mark Bartram will again be bringing the heavy equipment we need for the ground. It is a real opportunity for as many of you as possible to play your part in ensuring the club is safe and tidy. We want a clubhouse and ground that we are proud of and our sponsors, members and opposition enjoy coming to. We can only do that together so please help and volunteer where you can. Please bring buckets and cleaning materials along with yourselves on the day. Tea and bacon rolls as normal. LEE PARRY - OUR NEW HEAD COACHNorwich Rugby Club is delighted to announce the appointment of their new head coach, Lee Parry who replaces Jonny O'Brien who left for family reasons. Director of Rugby David Everitt said “Lee comes highly recommended as a forward thinking coach who puts great emphasis on player development above all else and is a thoroughly ‘great guy’. He has played and coached at a high level and brings with him the knowledge that will take us forward in our ambition to improve our standing in the Eastern Counties and beyond. He is very enthusiastic about his rugby and is looking forward to helping the players and the team move forward and achieve their objectives." Lee was a player at Nuneaton Rugby Club (level 3) and Coventry Rugby Club (level 2). An Injury aged 22 forced him to retire from playing full time, where he went into teaching and coaching. He moved to Norfolk 7 years ago where he joined the RFU. Lee is currently a level 3 coach, and coach educator having also completed the director of rugby course. He has coached for about 12 years from National League to community coaching in schools. Recently he was the DOR at West Norfolk and helped guide Ipswich to promotion when they won London 2 to London 1. He said “I found the club to be very welcoming, the ethos of players is very ambitious and they are keen to learn and develop which is great to have from a coaching perspective. Our pre season programme has just got underway to be followed by some very competitive pre season fixtures. YEAR 7 TO 12 GIRLS TUESDAY RUGBY SESSION'S HAVE NOW STARTED AT NORWICH RUGBY CLUB.
