AWARDS BBQ POSTPONED
Regrettably, we have had to postpone the awards BBQ planned for the 19th September. We will try again once rugby fully restarts for the seniors.

FUNDRAISING CYCLE CHALLENGE LOOMS
You may recall the fabulous 300 mile, three day 'Club Together' cycle ride that took place back in 2017. Mark Loveday and 15 other club members from Norwich Rugby Club are part of a 75 rider posse, embarking on a 200 mile two day event in October. Please support them if you can. This is what he had to say...
Many members of Norwich RFC will be back in the saddle again in October, cycling 200miles over the weekend of 10th/11th October, raising money to support our community as we respond to the challenge of the Covid19 pandemic.
Many community groups are struggling at the moment with the financial implications of providing their much-needed services. The Ride4Recovery challenge is seeking to raise £30,000 to help the Norfolk Community Foundation https://www.norfolkfoundation.com/ to provide its support and services across our region.
Over 15 members of Norwich RFC will be leading the charge. We are proud of our county and grateful to the work of the NCF in helping those most impacted by the pandemic. If you could support this cause, any contribution big or small would be greatly appreciated. You can donate here:
Thank you for your time. Here is our opportunity to make a difference.

ROADMAP MOVED TO PHASE 'D'
The RFU's Return to Rugby Roadmap has been moved to phase D which allows for some limited contact activity. We still have some way to go and this will, of course, depend on whether there is a second spike as the traditional flu season arrives, and how severe it is. For now though, it's another step in the right direction.
NEW MEMBERSHIP FORM
The 2020-21 membership form is on the downlaods page. Please help your club by prompt payment, we all need to support it more than ever. Thank you.
CLUBHOUSE INTERIOR PAINTING POSTPONED
Club clean-up day will be going ahead from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday 22nd as planned. The interior painting due to take place between 21st & 23rd is postponed for logistical reasons.
RELOCATION PLAN IS OFF
This message from Bob Annable:
At the AGM I advised that the University of East Anglia had expressed an intention to withdraw from the Colney Lane development and the Club’s relocation project. I can now tell you that the University has formally confirmed its intention to withdraw by issuing us with an appropriate notice to that effect. A press release has been issued today.
Since being made aware of this likelihood, the Development Committee has been considering the alternative options that are open to us and continues to do so. Once we have assessed these options the intention is to share them with the Membership for formal feedback and views.
There is also a need to manage any financial liability this decision leaves us with. We will be starting discussions with the University next week but can tell you the relationship remains amicable and collaborative and that we have the University ‘s assurance to work with us in finding an acceptable proposal that does not leave the club in an any more challenging financial position than we currently face as a consequence of the Coronavirus pandemic.
We therefore see this very much as ‘business as usual’ at Beeston Hyrne, for the foreseeable future and once the current constraints imposed on us by Covid 19 are behind us
