UEA RELOCATION PLANS APPROVED 9.11.16

At a planning hearing on 9th November into the relocation of Norwich Rugby Club to the UEA Sports Fields at Colney, the proposal was approved by a 7:4 majority. More information in due course. Well done and thank you to those involved in the long planning process.

This message from the Chairman to club members in relation to it

I know some of you attended today's hearing and many of you will no doubt also be aware of the positive result through the media coverage.

We should be really proud of the outcome and many congratulations go to Andy Pott and Steve Henson for their tireless work on this project to date over the last two years or so.

There were some very passionate and emotional objectors particularly from the Yare Valley association, Cringleford PC and Colney PC ( supported by the County Council) but it was a privilege to see real Democracy in action as the Committee members opined on the application thankfully in our favour.

This is a big step for the club but there remain some challenges and there is still much work to be done to complete the plan. In Grand National terms I would say we have negotiated the Chair but still have the second circuit to go including Becher's brook.

This is a really positive day for Norwich Rugby Football Club many thanks to everyone for their support.

Kind Regards

Bob Annable
Chairman
