Under 13 Girls Report

Norwich Under 13 girls are rapidly gaining a reputation as being 'very capable' to quote the Diss coach! Arriving at the ground NRFC were once again blessed with a full squad which resulted in us loaning a player each quarter (every 10mins) to balance the numbers.

Not to be accused of being unsporting in our selection, NRFC boldly offered Diss the services of old hand Evie Lewis which on reflection wasn't a stroke of tactical of genius as Evie proceeded to score 3 tries in as many minutes!

Such is the quality of this newly assembled squad that each and every player we loaned to Diss came with an element of risk - there were no weak links!

Nerves settled and after the departure of Eva Chapman following a nasty knock the teams were balanced and NRFC were on top. This was another game where the girls confidently showcased new skills to include grubbers, looping passes and even the dark art of 'latch ball' or a move the players like to refer to as 'mustard ball!'

Another proud day for NRFC U13 girls who continue to dazzle the coaches with their spirit, commitment and enthusiasm.

Under 15 Girls Report

Another great match! Diss started well with three quick tries before the NorBec (Norwich / Beccles) girls found their feet.

From then on we played a strong defensive game, halting two possible tries right on the try line.
Some good passing and running saw us making good ground before forced into touch. From the resulting line- out Diss made a break through the middle, looking certain to score until a crunching tackle from Mia (one of many) stopped their progress.

The second half saw much of the same, Diss attacking strongly and NorBec digging deep to defend. More strong tackles from Tallulah, Izzy Caitlin, Mia and Millie to name just a few saw this game being the best I’ve seen this combined team play so far and boded well for the future.
Well done to everyone

Under 18 Girls Report

A combined Norwich Wildcats and Beccles U18s visited Diss for what proved to be a challenging game.
Diss started early with 3 tries in the first third of the game, each scored round the outside of the NorBec defence despite some very strong tackling by Alice.

In the second third of the game the girls made a much more organised defence and turned a series of great runs by Amy and support from Mia and Emily into a try for Emily, driving through the defence to score. This was followed by a second try through a break from Amy.

Diss however reset themselves and answered back with 2 more tries of their own, each converted to put the home team back in front.
The last third of the game saw the NorBec girls build the pressure with the majority of play being deep into the Diss 22, but a simple handling mistake saw Diss once again using their fast runners around the outside to score. Some great tactical kicking and a poor pass saw a final try by Emily after an interception 5 metres from the Diss try line and a powerful drive over the line.

A fantastic effort by all the girls despite a slow start to see them really make their stamp on the afternoon
