Norwich 15 Thetford 10

Norwich 15 Thetford 10

Norwich 15 v Thetford 10
The sun was shining on Beeston Hyrne today where Norwich Colts welcomed Thetford who turned up with 11 players so Norwich provided them with 3 players from our 17 man squad to make the game an even contest of 14 a side , thanks to Harry , Joe and Adam.

The game started brightly but with both sides making a number of errors, continuity of play was somewhat lacking. Norwich scored the first try after a strong run by Matthew Perry from a short tap penalty, this brought Thetford into life and after a good handling move one of our loaned players Adam Huggins crossed out wide in the corner.

Both sides were guilty of giving away a number of penalties at the breakdown, again from one of these another short tap penalty saw Lewis Tray cross the line for Norwich's second try, After good work by the Norwich forwards Ethan went over again wide out. Thetford then had 5 mins of pressure which resulted in a good try in the corner scored again by Adam Huggins.

Thetford continued to attack and after a break down the left wing Thetford's Connor Sillet was tackled to ground , this resulted in a dislocation of the elbow for Connor and the game was subsequently abandoned. We send our best wishes to Connor and wish him a speedy recovery.

The Norwich coaches are pleased with the progress the team are making and big thanks to the three players who started for Thetford and to Ethan and Adam from the under 16's who did not look out of place and a made a good contribution to the game, Well Done
